Adobe acquires MacromediaIf you don't read the headlines on the front page...
http://www.dpreview.com/news/0504/05041801adobeaquires_macromedia.asp wonder the impact on the products will be future / longterm. Great to see 2 very good companies being combined. JD
This can only mean bad things in the medium/long term - building essentially a monopoly. I'm awaiting Microsoft's laughable attempt at retalliation. maybe IE7 won't have any compatibility for flash or shockwave.
I can see the integration of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks etc as being a positive move IMO

I fear the loss of Freehand, the merging of Dreamweaver and GoLive, and the merging of Adobe's SVG technology and Macromedia's Flash and Director technologies...

if they could (highly doubtful) keep each company seperate and continue develop their products accordingly... that would be very nice.
Maybe a little more integration between the 2 companies products... but please leave their popular programes - fl, dw, dir, ps, ill, ind, fw alone! JD
