Nikon USA Rebates

Postby atencati on Wed Apr 20, 2005 7:25 am

I know this is another thread but the other is several months old.

I still have not received my rebates (2) from NikonUSA. It has been 3 months and still nothing. The system doesn't even show them as having been received. I have faxed my info to them 3 additional times now and NADA!!!!!

my question, has anyone EVER received a rebate from Nikon?? I am begining to think it is a scam and a waste of time to pursue.

I emailed them and even though their online system doesn't even claim to have received it, their email response apologized for the delay and said they DID receive it and I would get it soon.

I mailed in for mine on January 25th and finally received it on March 25th. The check was dated 2 weeks before that, but was held up before they finally mailed it to me. BTW their checks do expire soon (60-90 days if I remember correctly) so be sure and cash it quickly if and when you do finally get yours. I'm still patiently (?) waiting for some lens rebates, however.

well, I finally received 1 of the 2 rebates. Funny thing is, it only took 3 days short of 4 months, 6 phone calls, 4 faxes, and 5 e-mails. Still haven't received the rebate I sent in December however. And that one they have told me repeatedly they have and it is in process.....oh well...more emails, phone calls and faxes enroute!!!!!!!!

at leats it was the larger of the 2 I received..

Just received mine this week too.

I was gettin quite worried, and honestly I'm really miffed that it took twice as long as they said with no correspondence of a delay.

Glad to hear that something is finally happenning for you guys.

At least one good thing we can say about Maxwells is that they were not to slack in processing their rebates here.

Too bad that the big boys want to hide behind the anonimity of the big corporate name and are uncontactable for you.

I received a rebate from Nikon USA this week on an SB800 and 105mm micro. Took 6 weeks this time around. No hassles or requests for additional or lost information, though.

Just saw a new D70 rebate ad on US TV (no, not D70s). They say that the rebate runs through June 30. Go figure?! Maybe different down under. Same "charging rhino" commercial they ran at Christmas with rebate info added at the ending.

Are you saying you'll have D70s models available real soon, BirdDog?

Steve, aren't Nikon USA offering a free Epson printer with the D70 as part of a 'rebate' scheme?

It seems initially the D70 and D70s will sell alongside each other at least on the US market. In Aust, I would imagine retailers would offer 'attractive' packges (eg. with 70-300 third party lenses or useless ustable tripods) to try to get rid of D70 stock before the newer D70s model comes in.

I can't wait to wrap my hands around a D70s - wow 2" screen, and a black plastic shutter release instead of the current D70 with 1.8" and stainless steeel silver release. :p (with virtually everything else the same!)

Sadly, we never got the charging rhino commercials downunder. It seems Australian suburbia don't have rhinos on the loose - but we have many kangaroos hopping mad in the streets according to overseas impressions, so maybe Maxwell will release a similar charging 'roo commercial for our market.

I got a good chuckle out of that, Onyx! and Fozzie's addition too!

The current incentives are a free Epson R200 printer or US$100 off on an Epson RX600, R800, R1800 or Picture Maker purchased at the same time as a D70 outfit or body. Also a US$100 rebate on the D70 outfit with kit lens. Offer is from April 1 to April 30.

I needed a second camera body by May 26th and was hoping that the D70s would be available by then. I bought a second D70 body last weekend from Samy's Camera in L.A. on the condition that I could return it if the D70s came in before that time. I have not opened up the second D70. I'm kind of jazzed to know they're expected soon! :P
