Power switch makes noise when turning

Got back from shooting mostly outside stuff today and my power button feels like there is something 'abrasive' in it. It makes a faint scratching noise when turning as if there something in there.
It's more noticeable when turning off than on. It's not something I would consider 'serious', but I'm fairly anal about my stuff and I'm always EXTREMELY cautious to not use the camera in dirty or sandy situations, and always store it in my bag zippered shut.
After cleaning the switch area with compressed air (which made no difference), I even tried applying a TINY bit of light oil intended for small bearings at the switch where it rotates on the body. It made no difference.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a phase in the 'wearing of the switch'. Should I be worried?
