Xdrive VP6210 ?

Postby shutterbug on Thu Apr 21, 2005 2:53 pm

Hi everyone,

Will be going on overseas very soon for 2 weeks, was looking at the Xdrive VP6210 for storing all my images.

Need some feedback on the unit?

Thanks

shutterbug/Vince,

You may want to consider, just buying some additional CF Cards, say 2 x 2GB (45x).

Hi Vince,

I have a slightly earlier model X Drive with 40 gig. Works like a charm, on a per gig basis it is much cheaper than cards. I think I paid $250 or so for mine. And because it is effectively a USB2 connected portable hard drive, it comes in handy for all sorts of situations.

So, the concept - excellent
X Drives - mine is great

cheers

(Edit - mine doesn't have a screen)

wooohoo...heaps of response.

I will have a batch of CF cards 2gig and 4 gig that I will be taking with me.

I am a bit crazy with my fingers, the shutter never stops :). Just want to download the cards when I get back to the hotel.

I was about to make the same post. I am really torn on whether I should bring my laptop or buy an X-drive for my trip to Europe next month.

I bought one 2 years ago and took it to Europe instead of my laptop. It has been fantastic - I still use it as a portable hard drive. It is small enough to stick in a backpack and is a hell of a lot cheaper to replace if it gets pinched (although the photos wouldn't be!). I had the worry in the back of my mind about something happening to it, but it copied my pictures fine and I had no problems at all.
