Anybody tried a Sigma 70-210 UC-II with the D70?

I have a Sigma 70-210D UC-II Macro Zoom lens that I bought about 5-6 years ago for my Nikon N70 (which has been sold since I got the D70). The lens has had very little use so it's just like new.

My question is have any of you tried the Macro aspects of this Sigma lens with a D70? I have yet to try it but thought I should give it a try before spending the money on a lens specific to macro use.

The other reason I haven't used this lens is that I got a Nikon 70-300G shortly after getting the D70 and have been very pleased with it.

Thoughts?

One other question, and I'm embarassed to have to ask, but for the life of me I can't see how this thing acts as a macro lens.

If anybody has any suggestions with that please let me know?
