RAW's wont open with Camera Raw

Postby Chris on Tue May 03, 2005 10:51 pm

Hey all,

I decided to download a trial version of nikon capture today. Later on i decided to open up some RAW files in photoshop and when i usually do that the camera raw window usually appears and gives me the option to adjust white balance, exposure, saturation etc. But now when i open a RAW in photoshop this window doesnt appear anymore, just a much smaller one with only one option which only gives an option for white balace adjustment. It looks like a window that belongs in Nikon Capture.
I decided to uninstall NC but this has made no difference, and have also un installed the picture project i had installed as well, but to no avail.

Lastly i decided to uninstall photoshop and re install it, and this didnt help either.

Anybody have any suggestions? or ideas?
:?

Thanks
Chris

Chris - when you open in PS it will automatically show the NEF option that was installed when you installed NC. Go up the list to Photoshop RAW and open the file through that option. :D :D

Or go to .....Photoshop CS\Plug-Ins\Adobe Photoshop Only\File Formats and add a ~ to the beginning of Nikon NEF Plugin.8bi (rename to ~Nikon NEF Plugin.8bi.). This will disable the Nikon plugin entirely.

Cheers
