When taking long exposures, perhaps one time in two the mirror will flip up and then drop a little bit stopping exposure on part of the CCD.
Has anyone else experienced this?

No MHD, I did quite a few one night and nothing like that at all. Maybe a trip to Maxwells?

Yeah dude, sounds like it needs to sit with Cameron...
Have you noticed whether it was the whole mirror assembly flipping down slightly or just a section of it? The back of the mirror are three plastic strips - the mid section flips more than the rest, accomodating the AF sensors below the box.

Hmmm will have to look at that... it looks like the top (or bottom when it is down) interesting thing is that is does not happen whith the lens off... I have tried it with both lenses (kit + 70-300G) and it happens with both.... Hmmm...

Hi MHD
Teds have a 28 day return policy I think and if I remember properly, that's where you bought it from
You might still be inside the 28 days "return if you are not happy period"
It's been a busy month or so for you
Hope your problem turns out to be a false alarm!
Cheers
Graham

`Yes... thats what I am thinking... Hopefully I can return this one and swap instead of having to wait ages for a new unit!

Is anyone sure that Ted Camera offers 28 days return without any charges or new replacement? Sorry, it's kinda new to me, and first in Australia that I have heard.
For MHD,
If the above is true, you better run and return it to Ted Camera otherwise you or Ted Camera have to send it to Maxwell for check up. I was at Maxwell yesterday and saw their work is well overflow, perhaps another 4-6 weeks as Cameron if there's a major operation, just about for Holiday Seasons. Especially, you're in the ACT, Ted Camera will ship it back to Maxwell by courier, add on another two to three days before it reach to Maxwell Service Dept. same as on the return.
