Digital Agfa Optima, have anyone tried?Birddog114
VNAF, My Beloved Country and Airspace
CurveyIt's interesting how he's been able to 'extract' the redish hue in this curve. I have never been a fan of Agfa film due to the redness that it has, same goes for some Kodak film too. I much preferred Fuji as it had a green/blue hue that worked well for the landscapes i enjoyed taking.
However i did use Kodak gold and it's colour hue for shots in the outback where it excelled. The fuji film shots of the outback just weren't as dramatic. Anyway, i've saved this curve for later use in case i travel back to a 'red' part of the country again, which i will do in due course. I think it would be good to try it out there. In the mean time i might play around with a curve and try to clone a Fuji curve. unless i can find one on the internet already ... Steve.

I applied the curve to this image of some trees which i selected due to it have both reds and greens.
http://www.potd.com.au/gallery/displayi ... ?pos=-8298 As you can see, both reds and greens look quite rich. I did play around with it a bit in Nikon Capture and Photoshop 7 to enhance it. But i am impressed in general with the curve. It suits this application quite well an should look equally good in durect sunlight, so long as you drop your shots one F stop or -1EV. Any higher and it tends to look a bit washed out Steve.

Just fond this, haven’t had time to read it but it looks like it would explain some things with curves

Afga Optima I like! It might just replace the Provia curve that's made its home in my D70 for many months.
I'm personally not a fan of BH film curve - although it has the classic look of scanned film instead of a digitally captured image. My main shooting challenge is needing more dynamic range rather than greater contrast, which the BH curve offers. YMMV.
provia vs EV3 , which ? ive read that provia is no good in low contrasty situations ... EV3 seems to fair better. WHite wedding is too bright for me.
Im currently running ev3_v34 and usually +0.3 ... but havent had much time to test it out
EV3 is like the normal tone curve, plus +0.3EV (so you don't have to dial it in manually). Provia is a "special effects" curve. It does tend to give washed out results in low contrast, as it was designed for high contrast scenes. Beaut colours though...
No...damn it! I am not going to start playing around with curves/shmurves....channels.schmannels and all that other geeky stuff. I am going to just take photographs until the cows come home.
