Life with a new D70

Postby Andyt on Thu Oct 14, 2004 11:52 pm

Firstly, Thank you for the welcome! and greetings from the other side of the rabit proof fence! (Perth-WA)

Being a new owner of a D70 I thought I would share my experience with you all. The reasons I upgraded were:
-Budgeting for a D300 to replace an aging G2 for a Xmass trip to Germany.
-Was told about the D70
-I was "sold" as soon as I picked it up, for reasons I am sure you all know by now, no comparison.
-After 4 weeks and 500+pics I am still marvelling at the creative control, speed, quality and those features that I am still yet to learn to use.
On the down side, have had one "Err" resulting in black pics until turned off and on again, and a "For" message with a less than half full C/F card, losing the lot after having to format to get going again.
-So am a bit nervous and disappointed about the Nikon reliability, especially after reading posts and seeing polls about the same problems I experienced.
-Aside from that, no regrets in my purchase but will keep the little Canon G2 as back up for awhile yet.
-To those responsible for the creation of this user group, many thanks for such a much needed resource!! (Ain't it grand not having to go "offshore"!)

Welcome Andyt :D

I haven’t had the “Err” thing as yet but it will probably happen one day.
The cam is around on the 3500 image mark so it mite happen any press of the button then again it mite never happen :? :?:

About the same as me winning the lotto

Look forward to seeing some of your images.

Cheers

Just as an aside...what side of the rabbit proof fence are the rabbits on?

Please don't tell me "both sides?"
Regards
