Ok I need a little help. I have downloaded a custom curve to my PC. How do I go about getting it from there to my camera.

I know about using the cable but what I really want to know are the steps from there. Can anyone help in terms which I could understand?

From memory - I am sure someone can correct me or I will edit when I get home.

1. Connect camera to PC
2. Open Capture Camera control
3. Setting are across the top - I think it is the third tab across - that says Image processing. Click on that tab. It should bring up a screen that includes tone, saturation, sharpening, hue etc.
4. On the drop down menu under tone, click on custom - it will bring up an userd defined option
5. click edit
6. load new curve
7. ok

Just found link to site with pictures on how to do.

Oneputt,
One important thing to note that I didn't find mentioned on there that I (and others) commonly forget to do. Go to the menu and on the spanner tab, make sure the USB mode is set to PTP to connect with NC Control. It took me forever to figure out why the program said no camera was connected the first time I tried it. Hope this helps someone else avoid the same mistake.

joolz it took me ages but I eventually worked that out, boy did I feel dumb. Capture told me that the curve had been downloaded but that it wouldn't take effect until the Tone Compensation had been changed.

How do I kinow that the download was succesful and is it possible to switch between the standard curve and the one I downloaded?

Shooting menu (camera icon) -> Optimize image -> Custom -> Tone comp -> Custom

When you open in NC, you'll see 'user-defined custom curve' is the default (asterisk next to it). :)
