The Nikon RAW saga

Postby cordy on Tue May 10, 2005 7:35 am

got this in my email early this morning, so it looks like there is some hope afterall

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This just in from our local Nikon Rep...

"As you may or may not know, Photoshop CS users with NEF files from a
D2X were unable to open their files unless they used our plug-in or
Capture 4.2. Over the past few weeks this has caused much conversation
and debate. But I bring good news..
ADOBE has released its RAW converter, making it possible for D2X users
to use CS to open the images. Though it has a fraction of the power of
Capture 4.2, the Photoshop diehards will at least be appeased...."

I've just checked and indeed, Adobe is now listing the D2X as working
with the latest version of RAW convertor here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html
SO it looks like I can again go back to planning on buying that D2X.
