Both my mother and Big Lens Kipper asked about focal length comparisons yesterday, thought it may interest others and all courtesy of Canon. How nice

Trevor, my 69 yr old mum, who specified 6-8mp and a focal range of 35-200 on the Coolpix I just got for her, then revealed she didn't know what that meant! Kipper also asked about a comparison, so Googled and that came up.

Ok, go to 300MM on that website (I currently have 340MM with 70-200 + 1.7TC). Pretty little Super Fairy Wren, and all the other birds I photo are about the size of the triangle (sometimes a tad smaller depending on how far away I am) above the circle. Now flick to 600 and 1200. This is what I'd achieve with a 600MM and a 600MM + TC :)
