Hi guys,
I have been thinking about buying an external flash but have a load of questions about the SB600 and SB800.
Basically, are they really worth it?
What can you do with them that you cant do with a cheaper non Nikon branded flash?
What are the benefits of the 800 over the 600?
I sort of know about the remote trigger, but as I dont have one havent really ever gone into it in that great depth.
Sorry if this is rehash and been discussed to death.

And, briefly, the SB 800 melds with the D70 perfectly, they talk, they exchange info, they work together. Magnificent.

I have no doubt that the SB800 is the one to go for, especially with the
"member" prices available through Birddog.
However having just done a quick glance through the link Birddog gave, there
is one or two things people have said the SB600 won't do that it actually will do.
So do your own research. Ken Rockwell goes on with a lot of big statements sometimes
but it is worth reading his take on SB800 vs SB600.

Edit: I should add that I would go for the SB800.

i recently picked up an SB800 from birddog, wouldn't be without it.
main benefit for me is the iTTL (and D-TTL) support that makes daylight fill a no brainer.

Hey samester.
1. I'm jealous (SB800=#1 on my lust list)
2. Have a think about putting your location in your profile as it sometimes helps when replying to posts

Ok, SB800 it is. I've been doing some research into this and asking other photogs about it as well and they just couldnt get some of the shots they have without it. Right, you and me both Stubbsy, #1 on the list.
BTW, like your face when giving the SB800 to flyer.
LOL
