Canon Metering Modes

Postby kipper on Thu May 19, 2005 11:29 am

One of the sites that I frequent has quite a few Canon users and the shots posted have for the metering mode Evaluative. Now the quick research I've done, it seems that this mode is similar to Matrix metering. Is this correct, is it just a different name that Canon decided to give it?

Canon, Nikon, Minolta and Pentax have different names for similar features.

evaluative instead of matrix
TV instead of shutter priority
AV instead of Aperature priority
