Noosa

Hi all, Hubby & I are taking our 2 kidlets to Noosa in July for a (hopefully peaceful) holiday.

I'm wondering if anyone from up that way knows of any kid-friendly activities - especially playgrounds - in that area? We're flying up and staying in Hastings Street, so anything within walking distance of little legs would be good, although if there is something further away that you think is absolutely not to be missed, then we might hire a car for a couple of days.

I've already asked the Tourist Bureau, but no joy there, so am wondering if a little Local Knowledge might help, if anyone up there has any?

Also, in the (unlikely) event that I get a chance to have a Shoot Session, can anyone recommend any good locations, apart from the National Park which I'm already familiar with?

Thanks a lot you lucky Sunshine-Coast Dwellers! :)

Yeah, I think it's Eumundi, has to be one of the best kids playgrounds in Australia. My 4 kids are older now and past the playground stage but I distinctly remember the playground. (10 years ago now)

Seeing you are a beer fan, try the locally brewed Eumundi Beer while you are at the markets. :D

Actually take a few shots of the micro brewery, it was all visible last time I was there, don't know about now.

ausie world at the ettamogen pub, not far from Steve Erwins crocidile park, Bee park at Thannawa, Underwater World at Mooloolaba, Camell riding across the river to Weyba Rd, Big Pineapple near Nambour.

Hope this helps

The Eumundi markets are free and are on Wednesday and Saturday. Your wife will love them.

Others have suggested rgings for the kids but avoid the playpark at the Etamogah Pub. It is run down and very poorly staffed. Have taken my grandkids there twice and would never go again. But don't miss the Australia Zoo.

Thanks very much everyone. I really appreciate your help. Looks like car hire will be a necessity!

Also, Oneputt, you're right - I will love the markets, but I'm not sure that my husband will - I think he has a typical husband's aversion to being dragged around markets!

A trip up the Noosa River is also recommended, especially for a photographer. I would also consider a trip to the coloured sands. In July, you should also take a whale-watching trip.
All of these events can be booked in Hastings Street and they pick up from that area too.
