I haven't had any problems with it at all - but others have had immense problems!
Toss a coin!

I think considering how long SP2 has been out now, any of those initial problems are likely to have been fixed by the manufactures.

LOZ,

SP2 has been around for about 6 months now, so all of the major bugs have been sorted. There are now about 20 or so updates for a typical XP SP2 installation. Most drivers have been updated, same for software. Just hit the update sites for all of your hardware and software. It should be troublefree.
IMO you should install. SP2 addresses many, many security issues.

Cheers

Matt

Installed it on my 17yo son's PC a few months back, had nothing but trouble, numerous crashes, never worked right so uninstalled it and went back. That's only my experience, and that's why I personally swear by mac osx

SP2 makes Windows the most stable and secure OS Microsoft have ever had. While a tiny number of people have had problems the vast majority have not. I'd definitely recommend you do it if only for the long list of security holes it plugs. But be warned it's a big dl - although you could/can get a free SP2 CD from MS

No problems though I did have trouble with my Wacom Tablet (SAphire) after SP2 was installed. Needed new drivers.

I got that one, although I'd already installed SP2. Since it was free, I grabbed it - took around a week to arrive IIRC.
The download didn't worry me. Optus cable is good

Loz,

I have been running SP2 for approximately 6 months, with no problems at all. Currently running a very basic colour printer HP840C, and had no problems. One day, I will invest in a Epson R1800...from the 'Guru' Birddog114.
