Printing Software - Which one?

I have just got the Epson R1800 and am very happy with the output on it from the included software "Epson Easy Photo Print". My figuring is there is probably a better print program which will get me better quality. I have heard Qimage mentioned or are there better alternatives?

Or maybe I will get 5% better quality for 150% more work

I always used Canon's software since it came with my printer, just like you and Epson software. I spent quite a lot of time testing different programs, including QImage. I discounted QImage because it's interface was awkward and not at all pretty. I was just about to settle for what I already had when I saw a post by Matt K lauding the virtues of QImage. Since I have a very high opinion of Matt (don't tell him though  ) I went back and played with QImage again.

Suffice to say I ponied up the $$ and licenced QImage. While the interface needs some human engineering done on it, it is pretty usable, but most importantly it has two strong points - it lets you choose size and layout of multiple images per page and the print quality it delivers is much better than any other software I played with.

Go get it.

Thanks Stubbsy, I remember Matt's post too, which is why I thought Qimage is probably the go. Plus my technical side assumes something called "Easy photo print" must be leaving something out. There are also a couple of later versions which may have a better interface. They are up to 2005.217 if that helps. Will give it a try.

The canon printing system is certainly easy and convenient, and pretty flexible. I haven't noticed any quality problems. Mind you, I haven't looked for any either.
