EXIF Editing

Did a search and could not find anything.

When I add EXIF information through Photoshop it creats an *.xmp file. I was wondering if anyone knows how to embed the changes to the exif information directly into the RAW image file?

Also does anyone know of other EXIF editing software that will embed the data into the file?

I used Exifer when I had to delete comments in the exif of my pic for the last challenge and it worked fine.

It can also be used to do other exif editing.
If I'm alone in a forest and my wife is not around to hear what I say, am I still wrong ??
