Quite a but different. Photoshop is more aimed at image manipulation whereas C1 aims at tweaking RAW files (and lots of them...fast).
From memory, C1 lets you crop, resize, sharpen, white balance, adjust colour, add curves & levels and I think the newer version also does noise reduction. It's main feature is that it will do it to a whole stack of RAW files from a single shoot and convert them to JPG/TIF's very quickly. Imagine C1 more like a competitor to Nikon Capture, or a seriously beefed up Photoshop RAW Plug-in.
Photoshop obviously lets you play more with the image (brushes, manipulating images, LAB B&W conversion, plugins etc).
I trialed C1 but couldn't justify the price...however, there is a new prog called RawShooter Esentials (google fore website) which was co-written by one of the original C1 guys, so it looks and feels the same and it's FREE. For me, it handles RAW conversion better than Photoshop (unless your trying for a HDR image) especially when your shooting a batch of images that require the same tweaking. Give it a whirl.

Mic,
I have it. It's quite different from
PS and NC, but seems to be very versatile. I think it is aimed at batch processing of RAW files, which is useless for me because I do unique processing for each file anyway. I know a pro who uses it just for that - batch processing 100s of RAW shot under similar conditions.

Hi
C1pro support more cameras
Canon EOS 1Ds/ 1D/ 300D/ 10D/ D60/ D30/ 1D MKII
Nikon D100/ D1x/ D70/ D1H/ D2H
Fuji Pro S2
Pentax *istD
And in case S2 you can connect AC adaptor and firewire cable and shooting directly into your computer I think.
C1 LE support less cameras
Canon EOS 300D/ 10D/ D60/ D30
Nikon D100/ D70
Pentax *istD
Hope that help
