Disk recovery software for Monday morning moron

Hi all,
I went on the Heli ride yesterday and didn't get to look at the images till this morning. I downloaded from my CompactDrive storage to my HD, whilst doing so noticed I had about 5 gig of previous photos. Chastising myself for being so tardy on my housekeeping, I resolved to clear all these images when downloaded, which I promptly did. Unfortunately I should have downloaded all the images first!!! I just did a straight delete, which means they have probably really only been deleted from the File Allocation Table. Can anyone direct me to recovery software they like? Thanks

Glen I use PC Detective - a free download. Have twice made full recoveries from reformatted cards.

Thanks Oneputt, will google now. My problem is on the portable hard drive (CompactDrive PD7) not a card, so hopefully it will work on that.

Oneputt, the PC Detective which fills the first two pages of Google is for surrepticiously monitoring the keystrokes on anothers PC, probably not what I had in mind  Do you have a link to your software, or is this a side function of the above software?

Glen,

If you have problems with this, contact me at home this evening; I'm sure I have some tools that will be able to help.

Thanks Oneputt, got PC Inspector (must have been promoted for doing a good job), working well, it has even recovered my Thailand shots, has 65 more minutes to run. :D Very happy I haven't lost the shots (might not be so happy after I see them). Thanks Oneputt for your advice (and PM correcting the name).
