I apologise if this has already been posted but I learnt yesterday that all KODAK retail outlets will be closing down this week – Australia wide. The only ones that won’t be affected are those that are privately franchised. I got talking to a lady who had been working in the same shop for 17 years who filled me in.

Anyway, all stock is being sold for unbelievable prices. Everything was at least 50%.

I picked up a MINI TREKKER for $65!!!!(RRP $159.95) BRAND NEW!!!! All camera bags were 60-70% off.
Memory cards were 50%. They had 1GB SANDISK cards for $49.98.

So check them out. I’m sure you will pleasantly surprised!!!

It's a big bargain, The minitrekker is at good price, it's $110.00, the minitrekker II AW is more expensive.
though on the SANDISK CF card, if the Sandisk Ultra II is a bargain, the SANDISk I is hopeless, too slow.

I had a look at kodak.com.au and found a few stores in Canberra but I am not sure if they are franchised or not :?

is this an australia wide thing?
i don't think most of the mel kodak stores would be all closing down at once? don't remember any of them selling lowepro gear though, most kodak stuff. did you see any chrome film on sale?

Well I am in Canberra and about 2 weeks ago I was walking through City Markets in Civic and noticed the KODAK store had a closing down sale. Everything left was 80% so I got myself about $300 worth of frames for next to nothing. So when I was in Belconnen Mall yesterday I found the same thing – a closing down sale.

I got talking to the lady there you had worked in the same shop for 17 years only just found out that KODAK announced that they didn’t want to do retail anymore. And ALL stores owned by KODAK would be closing over the next few weeks (but none that were franchised). Apparently none of the staff really knew and they are all now out of jobs.

She also said that when the pallet of LOWEPRO bags arrived last week she was really surprised because they usually only stock KODAK brand bags or other lesser known brands. When I got there yesterday there were only 2 left and the MINI TREKKER was the biggest bag they had (unfortunately).

All batteries and films were also 60% off but I didn’t bother looking at any of these. They even had HOYA filters for 50% off!!!!! But they were all 55mm. even all their cameras were between 40-60% off. It was almost too good to be true!!!

Kellogs, head down there and clean out the stocks from these Kodaks closing down - then resell on ebay and make yourself a fortune. ;)

I was at Westfield Shopping Centre, West Lakes (SA) this afternoon and 'Kodak Express' closing down.

Digital cameras were 40% off, and other accessories 30% off. Unfortunately nothing there of interest to me.
