Searching in these forums

Postby radar on Fri Jun 24, 2005 4:30 pm

Hi,

I did a search a few days ago on Linux, via the search facility of phpBB. It came up with a number of results, but one that it did not show was this one:

Is something funny about the search indexing? All I had put in the search box was linux. I just happened to find it today when looking in the "Important Links" section. Checked it again, still does not show up :-(

Thanks,

André

Threads since when we moved to GoDaddy seem to work fine in the search engine (from some of the testing we've done), but threads older than when we moved, which if you can guess is quite a lot, seem to have problems with the indexing.

It's probably from how much we had to edit and split files for the board when migrating to GoDaddy as they didn't have a way to move a fairly decent sized board at the time.

That explains it, thanks for the quick reply Nnnnsic.

Thanks,

And probably still don't.

But the indexing works on an exact word search basis. Spel ut rong, and yor SOL.
