Day trips in Melbourne?G'day all, as I've just moved to Melbourne I'm still getting to know the place.
I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for locations around Melbourne, like the zoo, which will be good for a day's wander that'll provide ample opportunity for a bit of practise? Cheers, Ray
G'day Baboo,
There's heaps of places just depends on what you're after I suppose... Do you want animal stuff like zoo's and sanctuaries, wetlands with birds sorts of things, or do you want old farms, historic sites, old towns...? Cheers. Aka Andrew
Mate, just up for anyplace where you could spend a while and try to expand the portfolio.
Just wondering if anyone had any suggestions which will be worth while. Preferable somewhere off the really touristy places. Ray
G'day,
If you describe the type of stuff you enjoy the most, that'll narrow down the choices to something that suits, including the weather too at the moment... The Zoo's are always a good bet if you wanna shoot some animal stuff usually early to get good light (but winter sun is very kind), including the Heallesville Sanctuary and the Werribee Open Plains Zoo, some sanctuaries and things, or there's the birds where others would be able to suggest some great haunts... I know you can easily kill a 1G card or two walking around the Zoo on a good day Aka Andrew
I wouldn't mind shooting some historical buildings/sites.
Just reading about Werribee Park. I reckon that that may have some possibilities. It is also close to the RAAF Museum. May pop in for a look-see. I would like to take this opportunity to see more of Melbourne seeing as I'm really only here until the end of October. Just wondering out of all the tourist areas, attractions, in Melbourne, which ones would people recommend for photography and which ones are rubbish? Ray
I just thought, doh! that's a first
Why not go to a Melbourne meet where a few members get together and start off with a nice brekky and then play with cameras and stuff in the CBD this week-end? Unfortunately I can't make it (working Grrr) but for reference the thread is here: http://www.d70users.com/viewtopic.php?t=6556 Cheers. Aka Andrew
