G'day and welcome to the forum!

Can't tell about the Minolta / Nikon lens mounts (never used Minolta). I've used the Tamron 28-200 with the D70 and it's not really a great lens... It's often fairly soft and you'll be missing a wide-angle. If you can get the kit lens instead, go for it!

Your Minolta lens will not fit on a Nikon camera. BTW - welcome to the forum. :D

Hi and welcome!
The Tamron which you have, if it's a Nikon mount then it's OK otherwise don't bother same as other brand as Sigma, Tokina, etc... Don't try to force it into the Nikon D70s.

Gaffa tape???

:)

Seriously, as Chris has said, it probably won't fit.

Unless it's an Adaptall mount, in whcih case, you'll need to buy an adapter.

Does the word "Adaptall" ring any bells?

Read the other day that Adaptall mounts are being discontinued - makes sense to do so after so many years 8)
