I have image preview turned off, but i guess i chimp whenever i move location to see if stuff is framed correctly. Looking at the histogram classified as chimping too?

Guilty as charged!!
Usually chimp at histograms and blinkies for the first few frames to confirm exposure is ok (and most frames for things like white birds on dark water in Matrix). Also chimp when trying new techniques etc.
Then its usually just down to chimping when I have a few moments spare to see if there is anything I should obviously reshoot.

Guilty!! I chimp ocassionally at weddings and show the bride/groom how great they look, it's good for business and also helps them relax more. Chimping is useful with kids portraiture too...where would we be without it?

I "chimp" when I see other photograhers on my travels, more so when they have better equipment than me.

Ah... I knew I wasn't going mad... chimping does mean something...
Now I know that I can confess that I probably chimp when I don't need to and don't when I probably need to... Then there's the misled chimping when I'm convinced that it's a good shot - only to find that it's very blurred when I get home...

Thats then the raucous shrieking that can be heard through the jungle. You know, the one that sounds like the chimp is having its heart cut out with a blunt spoon. My SO knows this one well! And its ALWAYS the shot that otherwise would have been the pick of the bunch!
