A very weird problem with my D70

Postby Grev on Wed Jul 27, 2005 2:24 am

Ok, so the battery got empty in my D70 so I had to recharge, charged it, put it back into the camera, everything was working fine...

Then a few days later I picked it up again, turned my camera on, took a few shots just for testing, everything was fine but then I went to change the auto focus sensor, it WOULD NOT move!!! =s

This is very weird, I cannot use the other auto focus sensors, I can't change it with my directional pad, it's stuck like that for a few days now, I don't know what the actual problem is, the camera is working fine, everything else is fine, it's just that I can't switch to the two side or the upper or lower focusing censors... =s

Very weird problem indeed, anyone had the same...?

Grev,

I hope that the obvious has been covered, such as the Lock button under the thumb pad - "L" for locking the focus area so that changes are not made accidentally, and "dot" for unlocking it.

Cheers :D

MattC answer is probably correct, or if that isn't it but camera is on try a half shutter press to display Aperture/ shutter speed then try to move it.

There are customs settings where you specify the functions of the various buttons and the focus area selection behaviour, check in the manual which ones they are and adjust them until you've got it to your liking. Thom Hogan's ebook explains this quite well (http://www.bythom.com/index.htm).

Hope this helps

Could it be related to the shooting mode that you are in? Have you checked it out in A M or S mode?
