I ordered a Hoya UV HMC filter from this crowd yesterday

Rang them today and they are out of stock. They are supposed to check when they are getting more in and will be emailing me tonight.

Prices seem reasonable and handling fee is also OK

One thing though - -their website seems to be a bit inaccurate with pricing. The prices shown in their specials pdf document do not, if I've read it properly, match the prices shown on their web order page. (Web order page is cheaper!)

Yesterday they said they would email me about the backorder delay. No email as of last night

In business promises made should be kept, I recon - even if they, for example, sent an email saying there was a delay in getting the backorder information, I wouldn't mind. But not to get an email when one was promised - that's another issue altogether.

Will telephone them later to find out what is going on
