Get the D70S + 18-70Kit lens and use with your existing 70-210.
Just drop the Tamron 18-200 into the garbage bin.
Swapping lens is a must with photogs regardless newbies, beginner, amateur, advance or Pro photogs..

Adam,

Buy the camera with the 18-70 (or 24-120VR) and grab a 70-210.

I doubt that, if yoiu have any interest in image quality, you'll be satisfied with the Tamron.

I recently sold an Olympus C-8080 to make way for a dSLR... so I guess it would be a bit dumb just to have one mediocre jack-of-all-trades lens on it, and not actually take advantage of being able to swap.

:)

Precisely. You lose a little bit of convenience, but you'll gain quality and be able to take advantage of the true versatility that the genre offers.
