Some tips for the Anniversary Meet

Thought I'd give a couple of pointers on things I'm thinking about right now...

Batteries:Have you charged all batteries yet? I just started the process. Make sure you have a spare D70 battery charged (if you have one), and a spare set of batteries for your SB800! Remember to bring your chargers with you if from out of town!
Don't forget to charge your mobile phone - you'll probably need it when you get lost in Sydney!

Kit:
Make sure you know where all your camera gear is! Know your bag inside out - where do you put your filters, spare batteries, compact flash cards?

Weather:
Looks changeable -
Friday : Showers. Fresh to strong S winds.
Sydney: 9 16
Trend for Saturday, Sunday and Monday
Showers clearing Sat. Fine Sun/Mon.
So prepare for all possibilities. While not likely to get as cold as Melbourne (!), we have been having some coolish nights lately. And if the weather does go south on us, it could be rather cold wandering around on Saturday.

If you've never been to a D70 meet before - be prepared for a really friendly atmosphere amongst people with (at times) rather a strange sense of humour. Be prepared for lots of photo's to be taken of you.
Finally, be prepared for the onset of Lens Lust, Tripod Lust, Camera Lust, and any other lust you might care to catch!

It's gonna be a great weekend - let's all make sure of it :)

Any others with suggestions?

Before the minimeet, make sure your wallet or purse is locked up tighter than a chastity belt. :)

Still a little cool - but now looks like we should have fine weather :) ...and "Mostly Sunny" should mean we have some clouds rather than boring blue sky!

Depending on what your level of ownership is like at this point, this reflects back to my original wallet tip.

"B" could very well mean either "Bring" or "Buy"...

Label all your kit so that when you go to pack up you know who owns what :) We had some problems with this at the QLD meet the other weekend.

Little coloured dots from officeworks with your initials on them would probably do...

Good tips Leons. Thanks for the timely reminder. Also those flying in - be prepared for anything at customs/boarding at the airport, but I wish you all well... (maybe it's just me they pick on?!)

And don't forget your CF cards!

I'm looking forward to a great weekend regardless of what the weather does. I got my D70 (back from repairs, yay!) and I'm gunna shoot!
