This is a crop of a RAW shot of an orchid petal.

I took several shot without changing the focus and the white dot appears in all of them.

Roger,

Shoot several images, of different subjects. Look at the images on your PC's monitor, at full size.

If it's a dead or a hot pixel, it will appear in all of them, in exactly the same spot.

A dead pixel will be black, a hot one will have a colour.

Thank for the replies.

I followed your advice and all I found were a few dust bunnies.

I bought Eclipse and Pec Pads a couple of months ago but I need to take a "brave pill"before I attempt to clean the censor.

Rodger,

Please follow this instruction:

Go to a liquor barn and buy yourself a good bottle of red, bring home, sit back relax, take the cork out, let it breath for a few minutes, get a glass and have two glasses then bring your baby put on the operation table, gentle work thru it, test, no more dust bunnies, come back and congrats yourself with the rest of the red.
Forget to mention that pls. close the door to keep dust out and no one ca se what you're doing
