photograph studio in Sydney?

Postby ajo43 on Thu Aug 04, 2005 10:23 pm

I was reading the UK mag Digital Photographer the other day and came accross a feature article for Holbourn Studios in London.

http://www.holborn-studios.co.uk/

They are basically a warehouse converted into about 15 studios for photographers to hire by the day or half day. Its seems that the who's who of photographers have use the studios over time. They provide studios, rent out equipment etc. They even have a wireless network for uplinking of photos in real time.

I was wondering if there was something equivalent in Sydney. A quick search of the net and yellow pages didn't turn anything up.

It seemed to me that with digital photography taking off there could be quite a demand for this kind of thing amongst amateurs and pros alike. What do you guys think?

I use a studio when I am in Melbourne that is a bit like what you describe. Back home in Sydney there is Pioneer Studios on Broadway and the Photo Rental Centre in Redfern. Baltronics have good studios in Sydney and Melbourne. Most hire both the faciltiy and equipment.

I was checking out Baltronics the other day as they have a good selection of Canon gear to hire.

They have only MK1 bodies to hire out, but I'm sure the 1Ds would suffice plus they also rent out 600MM F4 IS lenses.
