Bigger Eyepice for D70

Postby NikonUser on Wed Aug 17, 2005 9:30 pm

Hi there everyone,

Just a quick question... I've seen some pictures around on the net of a D70 with a much larger eyepiece (like a rubber cup).

Can anyone tell me what this is and where I can get one?

Thanks
Paul

I think Birddog sells them. Funnily enough, I just found this out 5 minutes ago by doing a search on "glasses" as I'm sick of banging my glasses on the back of the d70.
D3, D300, 14-24/2.8, 24-70/2.8, 85/1.4, 80-400VR, 18-200VR, 105/2.8 VR macro, Sigma 150/2.8 macro

Sorry for my ignorance here...

I've seen Birddog mentioned quite a bit when it comes to discussion about buying things (especially for great prices). Does he own a camera store? Which one?

Thanks

Thanks :-)

The only eyepice you have on there sounds like it is just a replacement for the one one the camera?

I'm looking for one that is actually quite large (guessing 20-50 cent piece in diameter) that I've seen around on some sites.

Can't seem to find a picture of one at the moment unfortunately :(

Have you seen the one I get for our member in many months now?
Is this the one you're after?

That's not the one I have seen no. Looks like it might do the job though. Are there any side-on pictures anywhere?

The one I have seen poked out from the back of the camera around 2-3 cms and was round in shape.

I'll keep looking for a picture.

Yes, you can get it by adding two difference parts from Nikon.

1/ Eyepiece adapter for F80, F75, F65, F55, D100, D70
2/ Rubber Eyecup DK3 for FM3A or FM2
Cost around $85.00.

I bought a couple of the eyepieces from the D70s. Thjey fit the D70 and actually stay on.

I might have to look into getting something like eventually, I sometimes struggle to line up my shots, or just find it un-comfortable.

Those eyecups from Birddog are great. I bought mine a few weeks ago. It's bigger than it looks in those photos!
Does the job nicely.

And a lot better than $85.....

Thanks

Paul,
Members in Melbourne have few of the eyecup attached to their D70.
You may see them at one of the mini meet
