Need to find a piece of Software

Postby mrbillf on Mon Aug 22, 2005 4:25 pm

G'day all,

Hopefully someone out there will be able to point me in the right direction for this piece of photo software I'm looking for. What I require is to be able to import photos (Like sporting ones) and create what is known as 'Magazine covers'. I think MS Greetings caters for it but it is very basic.

I've seen a guy do it at a Soccer Gala day but, I don't know what he uses to create them. Help

thanks again
Bill

Microsoft Publisher, perhaps?

I'd normally suggest a combination of Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator or Freehand, but I think that's probably a bit too much for what you're probably wanting...

A good allround program would be Corel Draw. I use it every day in my business and it is more than satisfactory.

We print 4 colour work and high end offset printing (traditional). Corel also offers a poor mans photoshop as a bonus and in later editions the ability to create pdfs to take to your printer for output.

It is a relatively simple program to master and on Ebay not too expensive.
