Remote control problemHi All
On Sunday I retrieved my tripod from Cyrus and decided to try the Sigma lens I bought December last from our dear patron saint. I also opened the Nikon remote control package and pulled the cellophane paper separating the battery from the remote thingo. All well thus far Then I read the manual regarding how to use the remote control and used the remote successfully using the kit lens first. Changed the lens to the Sigma and then found the remote worked sometimes, not all the time. The battery is almost a year old, so could a poorly charged battery be an explanation for the sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't event? Am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance Cheers Graham

Slightly OT but might be useful, one thing I did was get into the advanced menu on the camera and change the time setting for the remote control. I think the default was only a couple of minutes. I used to set the camera up, get all ready and everything, and by the time I am ready to press the remote, the camera had timed out and was no longer in "remote" mode. I changed it to about 15 minutes. All happy again.

Aha - thanks for that Tasdam
I wondered about that time setting and freely admit to not knowing what the purpose of it is. I think it is currently set to one minute! Will change that and invest in a new battery and trial it again next weekend. It is all good fun! Cheers and thanks again Graham
