Well, the stock on their website are grey imported from overseas.
Local one year warranty surely from reseller, not from Nikon/ Maxwell Pty Ltd.

Their list prices are like that but the final bid and the winning bid will be big difference.

Look at the price of the D2hs BIN and the price of the D2x, it's the game of bidding war, same as the D70s. No surprise at all. Price of the grey imported from O/S is just about AU$150.00 in comparison with the genuine Nikon/ Maxwell stock, pls. do the math prior to bid.

Lastly, it seems to me you do lot of "fishing" on ebay store in the last few weeks but did not get any fish yet

P.S: Have you seen the price of the D70s + kit lens from the bargain section lately?

Anyone who used to be called "sweety angela" until a few months ago does raise eyebrows :?

Personally, I deal exclusively with our honourable Patron, because I know that if I have a problem, be it grey import or Maxwell stock, he will be there to help me. Can the same be said about sweetyangela???

Sometimes the ebay dealers beat Birddog by a few bucks, but I'd rather pay a 5% premium for 100% peace of mind.....

Hi VK4CP

I live near you across the Centenary Highway in fact but have the flu and have not given you a phone number because my voice is gone and throat is red raw and I just don't want to talk to anyone at all ATM! - Sorry. Send sympathy please :!:

Anyway, I've just sent you a PM confirming JohnDec's recommendation and adding my own unreserved endorsement of Birddogs magnificent services that he provides to our members.

Do yourself a favour, give ebay a miss and hook yourself a bargain from the forum bargains section.

Cheers

Graham
And beofre anyone starts - it is not the bird flu OK

Adam, you are buying a product which well could require service in the warranty period. Sweety Angela didn't even sell cameras a year ago, though if you look back through her feedback she did have a very nice floral toilet for $128  Unfortunately I missed it  Deal with someone you can be sure you trust long term. Good feedback just means the product arrived fast and was working when pulled out of the box. Do you have any feedback on how they deal with warranty problems after 6 months? Especially on a grey market product when it may involve a trip back to the original market, maybe Singapore or HK.

As I want to take advantage of the TRS (purchase 30 days before I travel), I have a few more weeks to be patient... and you have no idea how unnatural that is for me!

You always have two ways:

Buy without GST from imported stock and enjoying the toys now same as discover the pros & cons + test drive the toys make sure they work before take off.

Wait to buy until 30 days prior to your departure and get your GST refund at TRS.

I always go with the first option, cos I can have those toys and enjoying the toys long ago, and ready for my trip.

The amount of GST money refunded at the TRS, you pay later to get the gears or not paying now from imported stock does not reflect any saving as your thoughts, but the convenience is the second option are working with your goal. Unless you're looking to pay a high premium for/ from Maxwell stocks and it's out of any questions and the savings are not there either.
