Workflow...Hi there,
I'm currently writing a document about workflow to put up on my website. I thought that before I get too far I should make sure I haven't forgotten anything.... Below is a quick summary of what I'm going to write about. Can anyone tell me if I've missed anything or even if there are things that I should adjust? 1Import Files From Camera To Computer (Use Windows Explorer) o Use separate folders for separate shooting events/locations/dates o Use descriptive names for folders for easy recognition 2 Add Metadata Tags To Files o Open each folder in Adobe Bridge and apply metadata tags to the files. Do this on multiple (all files in the folder) at once to save time. 3 Rename Files o Rename your files in Adobe Bridge (batch rename) to give them more descriptive names than the camera gives. 4 Backup the files to either CD, DVD or HDD o Although it might seem like this is an optional step I highly recommend doing this. If you have a computer crash or delete a file later you will really regret not having backups! 5 Rate Files/Delete The Total Failures o Use Adobe Bridge to view the files. Delete the ones that are obviously bad and give the others a star rating based on how good you think the image is. 6 Open Files In Adobe Camera Raw (Hosted By Bridge) And Adjust o In this step you will adjust all of the settings to get the file ready for conversion. White Balance, Exposure… etc. You don’t actually convert the file yet o Do this for all images in the folder 7 Use An Action In Photoshop To Convert Raw Files And Add Adjustment Layers o This will convert the files to PSD files and add adjustment layers that you will use later (curves, contrast, etc) 8 Open Each Image In Photoshop For Final Editing/Adjustments o Adjust the adjustment layers created in the last step o Apply any colour corrections o Apply and sharpening 9 Save Images In As Many Formats/Sizes That You Want Using Actions Thanks Paul http://www.australiandigitalphotography.com
Living in poverty due to my addiction to NIKON... Is there a clinic that can help me?

That sounds like about everything. I have a special folder called "VAULT" into which I place any masterpiece or extremely valuable image. Needless to say not much goes in, but what gets in does not get lost and is easily found when required. Regards
