For those who entered into the recent tamron competition at http://www.tamronterritory.com.au and expecting a result from judges today - forget it, it's been done in a true "Maxwell" style. Here is a reply I got from Maxwell:

Dear Mr. Gibbs,

I am writing regarding the recent Tamron competition. The
'tamronterritory.com.au' website advertised that the winner will be
announced in "The Australian" on the 5th of September 2005, however, I
could not find any such announcement. Could you please clarify?

Thank you
Regards,

Alex Gitlits

Hi there Alex,

Yes, we were unable to make the judging deadline as a key member in IT was
away sick last week. Due to a large number of entries in the final day, some
people were unable to send their entires via the site. I took those through
my email address. These have to be loaded as well. It could take some time
before the judging can take place.

Please watch the tamron territory site for advice as to winning entries.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Regards,

paulg"

Did anyone else get a message from Maxwell yesterday? I got one that said the judging was close and they should come up with a winner today.

Look forward to seeing the winning entries.

Cheers,
Owen.

Yeah, I got a message from Maxwell as well last night but it read differently.

Quote: 'Judging in the Tamron Photo competition is a very close race. Should have winners names tomorrow. Thanks for your great entries'.

Cheers,
Bill
