SB-800 or SB-80DX?

Why is it that a lot of places advertising the SB-800 AF show pictures of the SB-80DX?

The picture at Teds is of an SB-80DX if I'm not mistaken (crosschecked with NikonUSA).

Think vanbar do the same. They show a picture of the SB-800 AF but describe it as the SB-80DX.

Kipper, Only the SB800 works fully with the D70. The Sb80DX is the old model.

That's probably a question that's best directed at the owners of the websites in question. Certainly, you're correct in saying that Ted's are showing the wrong unit.

My guess is that it's a marketing department issue, and we all know how accurate marketing types can be. ;)

I have the 80DX which I used with my cp5400... While I am making do I will one day buy the Sb-800... The SB-80DX does not work with TTL as it uses the old D-TTL system and the D70 has the (much talked about) I-TTL system... so you have to make educated guesses at your flash exposure...
