Best Value Monitor SpyderI'm looking for the best value device to calibrate several monitors.
Before I go and spend $$$ on a ColorVision Spyder2, I'd like to know if there are any cheaper alternatives that I should be aware of? Thanks, Alistair
There are cheaper versions but a lot are scanner based, I did a lot of research as I needed to be able to profile screens, printers and printer stock, and I settled on the Gretag Macbeth Eye One and find it easy to use and very good for quality. There is some information on http://www.dpreview.com/ also have a look at this link it may help........
http://www.colorvision.com/products.shtml Cheers ....bp....
Difference between a good street photographer and a great street photographer.... Removing objects that do not belong... happy for the comments, but .....Please DO NOT edit my image..... http://bigpix.smugmug.com Forever changing
I've also got the Gretag Macbeth Eye One V2 from here:
http://www.imagescience.com.au/ They have the best price that I have been able to find and the GM calibrator is highly regarded and quite easy to use. I think there is a second hand GM EyeOne V1 for sale there as well. Worthwhile investing in one especially if you have a CRT (which I believe has more of a tendency to drift than LCDs). Kayell tried to sell me the same unit for over $500 IIRC. The cheapest alternative is to come borrow mine. I'm in Tassie at the moment, but pm me and we can arrange something. Julian
