Digital Photo contest - Photo of the month

Has anyone think about this idea for our D70Users forum?

Digital photography contest with no limitation on subject and techniques used. Novice contest is dedicated for photographer to get an initial contest experience.

In some respects it may be better to limit the subjects to a given theme. There's a lot of contests that are structured in this manner, and frequently - say as a pro photographer - you have no choice but to comply with the wishes of the paying client.

Having said that, there's often a lot of scope to use one's imagination in interpreting the subject theme.

IAC, check out the shooting assignments section here; that's where we'll be putting the references to those sorts of images.
