The plate shouldn't be an issue but in the past the heads have taken anywhere from 2-8weeks from what their annoucements were saying on their website. Birddog might be able to better tell you how realistic these advisements were.

They usually posted it where you select the product from (just checked know advisories). So it might not be as serious as the last shortage. Don't know.
Or perhaps they just don't want to frighten off buyers? :)

RRS e-mail address: info@reallyrightstuff.com

Inform them of what you want to order, and at the same time mention that you are a member of this forum.

Allow 2-3 working days days for an answer.
As Kipper has stated you may have to wait many weeks or months before product being available. Patience is the name of the game, but well worth it in the long run.

Fozzie does mentioning that you're a D70/DSLR member really help? :)
Is it like a secret handshake that gets you better service.

Last time I was ordering from there one of the items I was after was shown as out of stock. I phoned them up (to check if it was being discontinued: it was a plate for an old model of camera) and was told no it was fine, and in fact they had 4 in stock.
The stock level reporting on their website seems to be not perfect. Just ring them up and talk to them. Phone calls don't cost much these days - the only hassle is finding the right time of day to call!
At the moment the time difference to AEST is they're 17 hours behind (or 7 hours ahead but on the previous day). So 9AM Tuesday in Melbourne is 4PM Monday at RRS.

Stating that you are a member could very well help.

I am a :D client. USPS Global Express from Los Osos, CA to Adelaide is 6 calendar days. With Australia Post with Registered Mail from Brisbane to Adelaide is 9 calendar days. Now work that one out.

I think Birddog mentioned something in the last six or so months about ordering through 'RRS'. After posting this I will attempt to find the thread and edit this post.
