What magazines do you buy?

I have been trolling through offering at the newsagency and I was wondering what people buy.

Do you go for the digital photo mags or do you find the film ones better? I find some of the digital ones a bit light on good photographs and discussion about photography with more beginners tips on photoshop.

Does anyone buy the pro mags - they look ok but are pretty skinny and cost lots.

None.

I find that magazines have old news by the time they are printed and distributed. The internet is such a great source of information that i can't see the point of magazines anymore, except where i want to read something and have no power supply, but even then i just read Gardening Australia magazine. :) It's got pictures....

The thing I hate about a lot of mags is the huge advertising content. Popular photography seems to be 60% ads. THere are a couple of UK mags that I find are the best.

What Digital Camera

and Practical Photography.

They simply have the best articles and layout. They tend to be expensive, but they are thick and don't have near as many ads as the others, which are cheaper but are a complete waste in my opinion.

Killa,

I agree that you can pretty much find everything on the net, but sometimes its nice to sit on the couch and feel the pages in your hand. I get a little tired of computers after working on them all day. That being said I keep coming back here and posting because I love a good forum (especially this one).

Uncut, every month (the sea freight one for $10-50, not the airfreight one for $18-95)

Normally scan through the mags and if I find something interesting I will buy it.

Other than that I troll numerous online magazines

Cheers

I buy better photography and Australian Photography.

Better photography - focuses on photoshops and camera techniques instead of reviews (why need it if I already have a camera). Great inspirational photos.

Australia Photography - Camera techniques and critiques on photos that are submitted, which comes handy.

I bought varieties of mags before I bought D70. Found that Better Photography is the best by far coz of the contents.

I buy an English magazine - Photography monthly (PM). It's about $12.80 but since PM recently revamped the layout and content, I find it a good read. Has a bit of everything.
This month, portraits are the feature article.
