Error Message

I hope someone is able to help me. My D70 accasionally flashes up with "OFF" in the control panel and the camera will not operate. I turn it off and then back on again and sometimes it works, sometimes not. I can not find any reference in the manual to this error message. What could it be?

are you able to easily replicate the problem?
is it still under warranty?

Steve - which camera are you having trouble with? Are you using an original battery? Are the contacts clean on the battery?
Something of this nature normally points to the battery or contacts

It is the D70 with all original accesories and still under warranty. I don't know if it was a coincidence or not but I twisted the lens ever so slightly and it has not played up since. I do not change the lens on this camera so I am thinking that it may be a contact issue. Spoke to techs at Nikon and they had never heard of it, on the forums at Dpreview a couple of people were having the same problem but no one had a definate answer. Only time will tell.
