I have just for the first time taken the battery door off my SB-800.

What a scary thing to do. I dont think I will want to do that very often.
What do others think? I imagine the tab would get weak after while.

Do you leave the Quick recharge pack on all the time or swap between them?

Maybe you dont use the recharge pack at all?

I'm interested in the experience of other users.

I took off the door and keep it in the original box.
Using the 5th battery cell is my choice since I have my first SB800.
Not to worry about the battery compartment door, pay more attention on the 5th battery cell.

I use the fifth battery all the time. Recommended.

I agree about taking the door off. When I first got my SB800 I tried to remove the door but was terrfied I'd break it. Birddog stepped in and did it for me. Never done it again since I leave the quick recharge on all the time.
