Silicon power corruption

Postby Dug on Sat Oct 01, 2005 8:31 pm

There has been a problem with Silicon power 66x speed 1 & 2 gig CF cards.

they believed they had solved the problem with the release of the 80x speed card I changed my cards over.

Unfortunately one of these cards corrupted while I was in PNG. Fortunately I had another 3 cards to keep shooting with and the images were salvaged on my return and the card replaced but it was a reminder of the fallibility of digital.

If you are taking a once in a lifetime trip always take a backup system with you!!!!

has anyone else had a problem with silicon power cards?

I sometimes get the dreaded "CHA" when using the 2gig Silicon Power card i bought off some crazy bugger at Camera House... usually only after its been emptied of images... sometimes after 10 or so shots... format the card with the D70 and it seems to be fine
