I haven't read it all Yet Peter but I'm most interested in this topic, as I recently found it near impossible to find the shots I wanted in my "Archive". The added catalyst of having 2 DSLRs now and larger file sizes means I'm going to even have to start deleting the crap ones.

I'll be back with questions shortly.

I will definitely give iMatch another go via the 30-day trial, and try to make decent use of it during the trial period, this time. I've been talking about a DAM solution all year but it has kept slipping down the list.... time to really look seriously at it, I think.

Thanks for the work you put into this article, Peter - I will probably be back with questions as well.

Cheers

I agree with Peter's method, and I am headed down that road too.

I have been spending these holidays trying to get my library keyworded. I figure as long as all the photos have keywords, then between spotlight and Aperture (I am a Mac user), I should be able to find anything.

Once I get caught up (only about 6000 t go! ) I will follow a similar method. Delete the real crap ( hey, there go 90% of my photos :D ) and rate things like this:

x-reject
1-Keep for myself - memories, family snaps etc
2-Photos I will show
3-Photos I will brag about.

Other than that, just keyword everything you don't reject!
