My First D90 pixPicked up the D90 today and the first test had to be its high iso handling.
From this pic it appears that 3200 iso is no problem. Cant wait to try out its other features. Time to sit down with the manual now that I've had the first little play. Cheers, John Last edited by JED on Wed Jan 20, 2010 5:57 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Re: My First D90 pixJohn, truly unbelievable at 3200 ISO. How is the movie making in the dark?

Re: My First D90 piximpressive. i took one out for a spin a little while ago and to the naked eye the iso looked a tad better than the d300.

Re: My First D90 pixHavent tried out the movie side of things yet, Glen. I'll be trying that out tomorrow.
Is that right, Rooz? I had been pretty well set on getting a d300 but when details of the d90 started surfacing it seemed like it would be better value (for me). My first impression is that I have definitely got my $1400 worth. Now I just need to ramp up my skills to match the gear. It is smaller than I was expecting. Its almost the same size as the d50 so it feels comfortable & familiar, apart from some extra buttons and the second command dial. The screen is huge after the d50's, makes reviewing much easier. I'm looking forward to giving it a good workout. Cheers, John JED

Re: My First D90 pixRooz, the High ISO NR was set to "normal" for that shot.
Out and about fairly early this morning (missed the sunrise.....oh well, there will be another one tomorrow) and took these. Yes, its very dirty. In all honesty the D50 would probably have produced similar results but I'm liking the way the D90 feels and it all just feels that bit easier to focus on the image rather than the technicalities (for me anyway ) Cheers, John JED
