Nikkor AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

Nikkor AF-S DX 35mm f/1.8G

Postby aim54x on Wed Jan 20, 2010 8:40 pm

I was a very happy camper today when I received my new 35mm f/1.8 DX from my very good friend who had just returned from the states. From the short walk with this new piece of glass today I think I am really going to enjoy this little wonder.

This is actually the 2nd image that I took with this new lens (mounted on my D60) as the subject of my first image has requested me not to share it.

Thanks Colin

I will have a better play with this lens tomorrow, but first impression is that it is a sharp little bugger. Minimum focal distance could be closer but other than that I have no complaints.

Reviews indicate that the edge sharpness is not as good as it could be so I will have to have keep an eye out and see if I notice anything there. It is a perfect match to my D60 though.

Definitely a great range for the crop sensor, look forward to seeing more from this lens cam. You must be getting a tidy collection of lens now!

Nice acquisition Cameron. I am considering a 35 1.4 as well. Maybe next year though.

He just needs the 12-24 2.8 to complete his collection of the great zooms. Perhaps 200 2, 135 2, 300 2.8, 600 4..... I don't he has TSE lenses yet.... :violin:

Surenj I think you mean the Nikkor AF-S 14-24mm f/2.8....which is coming....with my FX body (in a year or more), but yes the collection is growing a bit out of hand.

Tokina 10-17 Fisheye
Tamron 17-50 f/2.8
Nikkor 24-70 f/2.8
Tamron 28-105 f/2.8
Nikkor 28-80
Tamron 70-300
Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8 VR

Nikkor DX 35mm f/1.8
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
Nikkor AI 135mm f/2.8
Sigma 180mm Macro

The worst bit is that looking down that list, I use almost all of those lenses....only the 28-105 and the 28-80 dont see use.
