Also another plug for d-d-photographics. Ordered the D300 plus the MB-D10 Tuesday and received Wednesday. The reason for buying from d-d was simple. Poon’s pricing is better but because I have an ABN I can claim the tax back. Total cost from d-d inc freight was $2,578.00, from Poon $2,362.00. After tax back the d-d units cost me $2,343.64. Not much of a saving but every little bit helps.

I’m now considering selling my D2Hs

Congratulations on the new acquisition. Did you jump, or were you pushed? How are you finding it thus far?

Gary, I’m what is known as an impulsive buyer that researches to the nth degree before buying. Although the D2Hs is a superb camera and I’m more than happy with it, I did require a new body with some more advanced features.

I looked at both the D3 and the D300. I did not feel that a $4,000 dollar differential was worthwhile on the D3 for FF and high iso performance - hence the D300

Hey Chris, we'll consider the first ten wallshots not to ever exist, so this being your #1 image.

Congrats on your purchase. I'm sure as you increasingly use the new D300 you'll start to find shortcomings in your prev D2Hs body that makes it not worthwhile keeping (and perhaps your research will lead you to replacing it with the D3 - hey, never say never!).

I did consider the D3 Chi, but it did not offer me anything extra in the work I do. High iso, hardly ever use it and FF not really necessary. IMO the D300 represents a quantum leap for Nikon, especially at its price point
