First Post (Canon 50D)

With everyone getting new bodies, I think that separate section for you to proudly display your first image from your new acquisition is in order.

This applies to brand new bodies, as well as bodies that are simply newly acquired by you.

This is my first post with my new 50D. Also, my first dabble with post production software. Loving it so far.

This is taken on the Pyrmont Bridge, Sydney.

Hi, and welcome.

That's a nice image, and a different and worthwhile take on a subject that many of us see every day.

[Housekeeping]Please take a few moments to read the pink section (Forum rules) at the top of this page, and observe what it states about ensuring that you have a meaningful location in your profile. The FAQ is also worth a read. :) [/Housekeeping]

Nice picture Gary,

I like the composition - not sure about the selective colouring though

The more I look at this shot the more i like it, the contrast between the old school control building and the skyscrapersw of the city is well done and the selective colour, whilst not everyones cup of tea, imo adds to the image.

My only sugestion would be to clone out the monorail and maybe adjust the distortion control - just to get that front leg of the building a bit straighter!

No amount of processing will fix bad composition - trust me i have tried.

:agree:

I like this one as well and think the selective colour works really well.

Nice first shot!!!

as above, but a great image...unfortunately reversing the selective colouring would not work in this image but as a concept it would be more fitting (ie old = B&W, new = colour)

I rather like it and encourage you to try few colour options just for comparison so you see what is possible, then keep them for future reference

Hope you enjoy the 50D

Nice shot, if you could remove the ah... whatever it is, in the top left hand corner, I think it would be even better.
